TGIF

A really fun weekly meme hosted over at GReads

This week's question:
Which books have you found to be very rewarding when it comes to tackling tough issues?

Pretty much anything by Ellen Hopkins answers this question, but Identical is one of my favorites. It talks about a multitude of tough issues like drugs, alcohol, sex, and sexual abuse. The book's written in verse so every word that Hopkins chose in crafting this novel is designed to make an impact. And believe me, it really does.

I'm pretty sure most people have read or heard about Thirteen Reasons Why at some point or another. This book deals with suicide and bullying and is one of those stories that just sticks with you after you finish. No matter what you go on to read, you will always remember this book. The way Jay Asher writes this story makes it really easy for readers to connect with the characters, the situation, and really make them think about the consequences of their actions.

  1. I have never read an Ellen Hopkins book, even though my great blogger friend Shanan (@theBookaddictnet) keeps telling me how great they are. I just resist the books in verse thing.

Thirteen Reasons Why -- such an amazing book!!!
